Pelekunu Valley

The twisted form of this endemic ‘ohi’a lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha) overlooks Pelekunu Valley on the remote northern coast of Moloka’i. Protected as a preserve by the Nature Conservancy, Pelekunu harbors one of last remaining pristine stream systems and is sanctuary to rare native aquatic species.
