Bee in Poppy
A bee collects pollen from the stamen and anthers from a pua
kala, the native Hawaiian poppy (Argemone glauca), growing in
Kalalau on Kaua’i. Purposefully introduced into the Hawai’i,
bees have taken over the task of pollinating a number of native
species whose original pollinators have gone extinct.
