Orange-Yellow Liko

The liko (young leaves) of this naturally stunted ‘ohi’a lehua (metrosideros polymorpha) at Pepe-opae Bog on Moloka’i fluoresce with a brilliant orange-yellow color. With its roots submerged in standing water, this endemic tree can complete its life cycle never reaching more than 6 inches tall.
