‘Ohia Seed Pods

The seed pods of this ‘ohi’a lehua (metrosideros polymorpha) are poised to split open and release their tiny seeds. With ‘umikoa, stringy white and orange lichen, intertwined on its branches, this ‘ohi’a lehua grows on the crest of the Wai’anae Mountains near Pu’u Kalena.
