Ohelo Flowers

These red bell-shaped flowers of the ‘ohelo (Vaccinium reticulatum) turn into berries and become prime fodder for the nene goose. This specimen grows on the steep windard cliffs of the Ko’olau Mountains overlooking Kahana Valley on O’ahu.
