Damselfly on White Ginger

An endemic pinao—the red endemic damselfly (megalagrion blackburni)—rests on a cluster of fragrant white ginger flowers in Kohala Forest Reserve. While white ginger is beautiful, it is an invasive species that is replacing much of the native forests in the Kohala mountains.
