
Oha Wai Flowers
The petals of this ‘oha
wai (clermontia parviflora) curve backwards near Thurston Lava
Tube in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. Sticky white
sap from these plants were used by the Hawaiians to catch birds
for feathered capes.
