Puffy Pink Liko Lehua

The pink liko (young leaves) of this ‘ohi’a lehua (metrosideros polymorpha) are puffy like a succulent plant and is covered with fine soft hairs.  This specimen grows on the Wai’anae Mountains near Pu’u Kalena, the second highest peak on O’ahu.
